Atlas Centre, the first aeronautical centre in Europe that is specialized in drone trials
The Atlas Centre, located in Villacarrillo (Jaén), was opened in 2014 as the first aeronautical centre specialized in drone trials. In fact, it is the only one in Spain considered to be a segregated air space by the Spanish Agency of Air Safety, this means that it is only available for a specific type of aircraft. The weather conditions of the area and the absence of interference in its air space have turned it into the test scenario of companies from Spain, France, Great Britain and Germany.

The Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Department of the University of Granada has created a system able to detect the presence of guns on videos in real time. Once the surveillance system detects the weapon it instantly triggers the alarm.
Beprevent, a smart label system that promotes the independence of older people
Beprevent is a start-up company created in Cordova that has developed a smart label system aimed at older people or people with disabilities who want to preserve their independence. These sensors are installed in objects or places that allow relatives to monitor the daily routine of the users. In Spain, there are eight million people over 65 and two million of them live alone. This project is promoted by the Minerva Program for technological entrepreneurship developed by Vodafone and the Andalusian Government.
