Creation of the first cosmetic made from the fat of Iberian ham

An entrepreneur from Villanueva de Córdoba has created the first cosmetic made from the fat of Iberian ham: natural soaps with the stamp of the Los Pedroches Denomination of Origin. Following the tradition of the elderly women who used to make soap with used oils, this artisan makes it with the fat from Iberian ham and aromatic plants from the region, such as lavender and rosemary. These plants give color and aroma to the cosmetic, which stands out due to its effectiveness as a moisturizer.

In the past 30 years, Caracol Express has cooked and served about a ton of this mollusk daily from Cordova while recently spreading to all corners of the country, to where it arrives prepared from more than twenty different recipes that combine the traditional with the innovative.

Young entrepreneurs in Granada have developed Mission Box, an app that enables users to request to personal delivery or errands services within their city. The growing company has approximately 20,000 users on their app, and have reached nearly 3,500 orders per month. The service is currently available in Granada, Jaen and Malaga and has received recognition from the Granada Association of Young Businessmen.

The success of the home sharing platform Airbnb is generating its own business environment. One of the start-ups that have been created as a consequence of this success is HappyHospes, the initiative of a Sevilian entrepreneur that offers a management service to the hosts of this platform. They take care of publishing the add, welcoming tourist and cleaning the accommodation.
