Ernesto Carmona, a referent for European Chemistry

When he was just a young researcher, Ernesto Carmona worked in the Royal College of London with Geoffrey Wilkinson, winner of the Nobel Prize in 1973 for his studies about organometallic chemistry. “My whole career is based on those three years I spent with him”, explains Carmona. Today, after a prosperous career, he is an international referent for this field of study. He has received several awards, but the most important is the King Jaime I Award of Basic Research. Ernesto Carmona is a professor of the University of Seville, and works as a researcher in the Chemical Research Institute of Seville. He is also a member of the Royal Academy of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences; and of the Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry.
