Manuma, a forest officer who became a photographer for National Geographic

Manuel Mata, Manuma, was born in Linares in 1976 and he has his first contact with photography when he was 15. His career as a forest officer enabled him travel all around Spain with his camera. In 2008 he quitted his job to become a photographer and moved to Cabo de Gata, in Almería. Looking at his pictures is similar to looking at soul, as he assures that he shows it in each one of them. This photographer, focused on nature, collaborates with magazines such as National Geographic, Súper Foto or Grandes Espacios. He has been commended in the Spanish contests Montphoto and Fotocam and, at an international level, in the BBC-WPY.
