Born in Baena, Cordoba, Rafael Garrido was the only Spanish researcher who participated in the COROT space mission, developed by the European Space Agency. He is currently part of PLATO, with which he continues his search for planets that are similar to Earth. He has Parkinson’s disease but this hasn’t stopped him from continuing his research work at the Astrophysics Institute of Andalusia, in which he works since its beginnings.
