Isabel Porras is a journalist who is in love with bikes, she was born in Madrid but she lives in Seville since 2010. Porras is the manager of a small school-workshop in this city, ‘Santa Cleta’, which has allowed her to be elected third vice-president of European Cyclists’ Federation. Now she is in charge of drawing up European proposals that fulfil the needs of local cyclists and that contribute to the normalisation of the use of bicycles as a form of transportation.
José Madero, technological innovation to revolutionise the printing sector in Spain
In the 80s, José Madero (Torredonjimeno, Jaén) had to choose a path: studying for a degree or continuing with the family business. He stayed at the printing house that his grandfather had bought in the 50s and that had been running since 1898 under the name Gráficas La Paz. He followed the family tradition but using innovation and it became the business with the second highest turnover in its sector in Andalusia and the top company in technological innovation. It prints more than 1,000 books a year in 30 different languages. In 2017 they made a deal with the company Lantia Publishing to join the English-speaking market through desktop publishing of books.
