Since 2013, the Nena Paine Association has worked during the afternoons helping more than 200 children with their homework and studies. The objective is to fight against school dropout, and they are achieving it. 92% of their children passed the last year.
Women prisoners find a second chance with the 13 Roses reinsertion programme
A resource to make women feel that they have the power to change their lives and that it is up to them. It’s the ’13 Roses’ Project, developed in Malaga by the Arrabal Association. They help current and former women prisoners integrate in society and enter the labour market.
TeloReciclo: employment for people with disabilities by means of the recycling of cell phones
TeloReciclo is an initiative that launched in Almería and, thanks to it, individuals with intellectual disabilities have been able to gather out of service cell phones throughout the entire city with the intent to foster the recycling process of these devices. The project is sponsored by Orange, along with the association for people with intellectual disability A Toda Vela, and the eco- social company of messaging Koiki. The program was created with the intention to generate jobs locally, to participate in the inclusion of individuals with intellectual disabilities in the labor market and to contribute to the sustainability of the environment through recycling.
SLOC: a new martial art for people with special needs
A Granadian has created a new form of sport called SLOC, a martial art that avoids physical harm of participants and is specifically developed for persons with special needs. SLOC (Sistema de Luchas Orientales en Competición) offers many collective benefits to people of different abilities.
