Nicolás Chica, an Olympic chef that promotes zero kilometre products

He studied in the Catering School of Granada and is a member of the Spanish Culinary Team. Nicolás Chica was part of the first Spanish team that participated in the Culinary Olympics, held in Germany in 2016, where they won a bronze medal. Currently, he works as a chef in the Granadian restaurant La Milagrosa Irreverente. In 2014 he participated as assistant chef in the Bocuse D’Or, which is the most prestigious gastronomic competition in the world. His cuisine mixes tradition with modernity and he always uses zero kilometre products.

Kisko García, cuisine as a flavour ecosystem

Kisko García was born in Cordova in 1978. He grew up in his parents’ restaurant, so he couldn’t help to fall in love with cuisine. He studied in the Gran Capitan Catering and Tourism School in Cordova. He has worked in some of the best Spanish restaurants under the supervision of great chefs such as Joan Roca and Sergi Arola. His restaurant, Choco, where he is head chef, was awarded a Michelin Star in 2012. Kisko claims to be in love with Cordovan cuisine, that’s why he promotes it and aims to make it known worldwide. He wants his clients to enjoy with his creativity and to share his passion for Cordovan cuisine.

Damián Ponce, ceramics as a way of interpreting life

Master ceramist Damián Ponce was born in 1951. He is the owner of a workshop located in the Cordovan village of Castro del Río since 1975. When he was 19 years old, he decided to turn his passion into his profession, and he began to study ceramics. He was part of the Andalusian Federation of Artisans, where he transmitted a new concept of crafts with humbleness. In 2014 he was awarded the Master Artisan Card by the Andalusian Government for his career as an artisan. In his workshop, he manufactures unique ceramics pieces, of which the most popular are his replicas of ‘Las Meninas’ (‘The Ladies-in-Waiting’).

Nade Favreau, a master artisan surrounded by the sound of looms

She moved to Spain from France and in 1979, she settled down in Bubión, in the Granadian Alpujarra, the home of her loom. Nade Favreau was awarded the Artisan Mastercard in 2010, and in March of 2016, her workshop was declared Artisan Point of Interest by the Andalusian Government. Most of her clients are the tourists that visit her workshop, who come from all over and that can see her working with her loom.
